Holiday cheer was spread far and wide at JFK T8 with events for children and employee appreciation events.

Santa brings joy to children at JFK 45th Annual Children’s Holiday Party 

Holiday season arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) with a magical arrival of Santa Claus during the 45th Annual Children’s Holiday Party hosted by the Rotary Club of JFK Airport. 

The party benefitted children with special needs from local Queens schools as well as Mill Neck School for the Deaf.  

Hundreds of children greeted Santa Claus who appropriately arrived by plane to the airport. He brought gifts for each child donated by the JFK Community including from JFK T8. The children enjoyed delicious holiday treats and eats, a performance by The Aviation High School’s Color Guard and Chorus, dancing, and a special visit by the K9’s of the CBP and U.S. Department of Agriculture.  

Each of the children got to spend some special time with Santa and Mrs. Claus bringing smiles to everyone.  

URW was honored to be a sponsor of the festive party that returned after a two-year hiatus.  

JFK T8 employees honored at appreciation event 

In honor of all the hard-working JFK T8 employees, URW held two JFK T8 Employee Appreciation Coffee Happy Hours.  

All employees were invited to enjoy a free medium coffee when they showed their employee badge on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The coffees were available at both T8 Dunkin’ locations and Starbucks.  

“We know how hard our employees work at T8 and we are extremely grateful that they are here on these holidays serving our passengers,” said Lynden Scott, URW General Manager, JFK T8. “This is our way to say thanks not only for these days but for their dedication all year long.” 

JFK Holiday Spectacular

The URW JFK T8 team in partnership with the Black Professional Network Employee Business Resource Group hosted the JFK Holiday Spectacular to celebrate the employees of Terminal 8 at JFK. From American Airlines crew to Concessions staff, all employees enjoyed a special holiday season celebration with complimentary holiday treats including cupcakes and hot chocolate, live DJ, holiday carolers, giveaways and much more. Held at the Concourse B Bandstand in Terminal 8, a jolly good time was had by all to celebrate the season (and hard work of our terminal teams).

JFK T8 Concession Employee Holiday Appreciation Bagged Lunch On December 21, the JFK T8 URW team showed appreciation and celebrated the holidays with Terminal 8 Concession Employees with a Free Bagged Lunch. The URW JFK team created a holiday zone in the T8 food hall inviting Concession Employees to stop to pick up a free holiday bagged lunch. More than 200 Bagged Lunches were distributed by jolly elves on the URW Airports team to smiling Terminal 8 employees.
